in this experiments students will learn that Using copper wire and metal pin, students will make an electromagnet. With this, they will understand how electricity produces magnetism. In this activity, children will make a small armature and place it in magnetic field. As current starts flowing through copper wire of armature, it starts spinning. It is the simplest form of motor. Children make it and take it home. On completion of activities, thorough discussion on how DC motor
works is carried out. Fleming’s Left Hand Rule is also discussed. Concept like, electricity, flow of electrons, current etc are also shared with the students. As students have seen magnetic field, working of electromagnet and actual working of motor, they will appreciate this throughout their carer.
